Short(ish) Story: Evalade

I recently completed a story for Wickfield 's FicSwap. I was a little rushed and finished late but here is the link to Evalade. Evalade, A Story.

Here are some quick sketches I did to illustrate it but haven't added them to the work yet.

I used an imaginary place I drew this map for some years ago for the story setting, the Isle of Lilt.

My attempt at drawing a Fairy Penguin. These birds live here where I live in NZ, You can hardly fail to see one if you go out in a boat to sea.

  Cute arn't they!

 A sheet of clear glass
Crystal-like in clarity

Through it the eyes pass
From barren, bold austerity
To each golden rainbow coloured shape

The air appeared clean and fresh and bright
Blue rippled the water in its wake

There was no haze to dim the eye
But yet a veil lowered tween me and the dream
And the glass grew dim as from a sigh

Since I want to write a post and have nothing in the world to say right now I will share some of the posts of other blogs I am following.

First here is an interesting article about a favorite author and poet of mine: The Inspiration and Encouragement to Write: William Wordsworth and Jane Austen
William Wordsworth, Benjamin Robert Haydon.

Beautiful Whangaroa

I was just thinking that where we live is so beautiful that I thought I would share some photos of around here.
I didn't take these photos most of them are from google or my brother.
I see this every day when I ride my horse, the trees are red like that at the moment because it's summer. We call them the NZ Christmas tree because they come out at that time.
I also see St.Pauls when ever I ride, but it isn't always so beautiful in the sunset.
The Dukes Nose. this was taken a few years ago but it still looks the same. I and my friend climbed it on New Years Eve day when it was misty and rainy. Unfortunately we didn't take a camera but below is the view from the top:

Peach Island in the middle of the harbour

My brothers went fishing on Christmas Eve

The moon rising over St. Peters

And there's Peters boat sailing just out of the hourbour

New Years Holiday Photos

Here are some photos from my new years holiday. We went out in my brothers boat with some friends and stayed four nights.
The weather was like this until the morning of New Years Day when it dawned like this..

Me tipping a bucket of water over my head!! We went up a stream and a few waterfalls to a pool to wash a few times.

We sailed all day to Mangonui and stayed two nights there

Inside, Nathaniel my little brother, me and Lydia my good friend, inside Star, It was very small and cramped.

Stop! Look!
